explore fascinating landmarks and unwind at lovely parks nearby
during my stay, I was thrilled with how central the hotel was, making it easy to walk to the Oregon Trail Ruts, which is just a short stroll away, and I enjoyed relaxing at the Douglas WWII P.O. W. Camp, barely 100 meters from the hotel, both being great spots for absorbing local history and nature during my weekend explorations.

A perfect pit stop in Douglas
From the moment we arrived, I was impressed by how clean and modern the hotel felt. Breakfast was a standout, featuring a delightful selection of warm foods, and the chocolate chip cookies in the evening were a lovely touch.
Unfortunately, the breakfast bar could have offered more variety, and we noticed limited hours over the weekend which started our days a bit later than we liked.

I had a great time staying at the Hampton Inn in Douglas for a couple of nights. The cleanliness throughout the hotel surprised me. my King Room felt spacious and comfortable. The housekeeping did miss a few spots, like some dog hairs on the bed, which was a bit off-putting. The staff at the front desk impressed me with their promptness. they made the check-in process smooth. The best part was the breakfast—it featured freshly made waffles and good hot options, although I noticed limited hours on the weekend, which slowed my mornings a bit. I absolutely enjoyed the pool area since it was well-maintained and offered a perfect space to unwind. Being close to the highway brought in some noise, especially from trucks, but it didn’t overshadow the comfort I felt in my room. The shower pressure left something to be desired. it took longer to rinse off than expected. I’m planning to return, hoping for improved housekeeping and shower facilities next time.

The clean and spacious King Room provided a comfortable bed with amazing pillows, ensuring good rest even next to a busy road. The breakfast selection impressed with plenty of hot options including freshly made waffles and a variety of delicious fruits, served until 10 AM daily.
Unfortunately, the pool maintenance interfered with my plans, as it was closed during my stay without prior notice. While the hotel keeps a clean appearance, I noticed signs of wear, like the dog hairs on one of the beds and marks on the comforters, suggesting housekeeping could use a bit more diligence. The location next to the interstate means noise from traffic, so light sleepers might find it tricky to snooze comfortably.
